Michele Weiss, principal at Holtz, Slavett, Drabkin & Warner, will provide insight on “Thinking Outside the Box in Tax Cases: Loper Bright, Jarkesy, and Other Cases that Challenge ‘Normal” Practice’” at the California Lawyers’ All Tax Meeting. This annual meeting will take place November 12-14, 2025, at the Westin San Diego Bayview. Together with Hon. Judge Mark Holmes and attorneys Lavar Taylor and Andrew Weiner, Michele will explain how thinking outside the box can lead to success in tax cases.
The panel will explore how recent opinions including Loper Bright and Jarkesy offer new avenues for taxpayers to explore when pursuing their tax cases. Moreover, the panel will explain how taxpayers can challenge “normal” courses of action in their tax cases to find new and better ways to succeed in their tax disputes.
