Michele focuses her tax practice on tax controversy and tax litigation matters. She has expertise in many substantive and procedural tax issues including tax penalty abatement, employee retention credit (“ERC”), offshore disclosure matters, employment tax matters, sales tax audits, collection due process, conservation easements, employee benefits and pension plans, trust issues, and non-profit matters. Michele has extensive experience with sensitive voluntary disclosure matters including delinquent FBARs and other offshore disclosure and foreign information-reporting matters. Michele handles property tax matters in all California counties including special assessments, escape assessments, change in ownership issues and property tax appeal representation. Michele often provides tax counsel in business litigation, labor law, trust and probate litigation, and family law matters.
She has over 25 years of tax controversy experience which includes representing clients before the IRS, FTB, CDTFA, EDD, California Office of Tax Appeals, and County Assessors, , in all areas of tax including `. She provides tax consultations and advice on the tax impact of business litigation, labor law litigation, family law, and trust and probate litigation matters. She advises clients on Michele is an active member of the tax community and frequently presents live and webinar presentations on tax law. She is a former IRS Counsel senior attorney and a California State Bar certified specialist in taxation law.
